Tuff 2 explain why Exhaust question
« on: November 29, 2009, 02:18:54 AM »

It's a super humongous story why I need to know this, but, for now it's important for me to know simply the following:

Does ANYONE have the books or info to tell me the P/N's of the L&R exhaust manifolds for the 1974 (ONLY! - NOT 75+) C-body 440's and for the '73 and earlier C-body 440's.

OK.  You asked for it.
I can buy an off the shelf exhaust system for my car if I use the manifolds that were used on the '74 440 C-bodies.  Maybe even the 400, but, I dunno.  In '75, the manifolds changed so the '74 exhaust system can't be used.
OK.  That being said, if the '74 manifolds were a one year only item (don't forget: the first year of the "Formals" was '74), then finding a pair would be next to impossible.
BUT!!!!, if the manifolds in '74 were carried over from earlier years, then getting a pr. would be a pc. o'cake.  And CHEAP, too!.

Kapiche?

Bob:  I could kiss you on all four cheeks.

AWESOME reference!!

Evidently, the '74 ex.  manifolds are a 1 year only deal.  Ya saved me a lot of aggravation.  thanks, man.

Nah.  The '74 off the shelf system probably wont hook up to them.

To head off the next obvious question off at the pass....

I was going to do that and even had the book on my desk when these appeared.
Now I fully understand what Stan is doing, but can't figure out why Chrysler did that.  It's like the engines in the 65's.

TTI also has a pretty good reference for Cbody exhaust manifolds on it's site. Orginally got this off Krautmaster on the Drydock.
