Thanks, Lea.  At least I know you  tried.
 
I found out what it is.  It's called the Number 8 Igntion Wire 'J' Reatainer.
The #8 wire runs thru a nylon grommet that fits into the half circle on the bracket.
Here's one similar.  Now all I have to do is find that %^$# little grommet.

My '65 has a similar setup for #6 and #8 wires.  I found the proper size rubber grommets at the hardware store and slit them to get the wire through.
