piston wrist pin retaining clip
« on: September 22, 2009, 11:08:10 AM »

I've had wrist pins that were pressed in and have had full floating pins installed with C-clips.
My new pistons have these types of clips.  Do I need a special tool or will needle nose pliers work?

Sledge Hammer, 50,000 press and a torch.

Needle nose.  You'll need a set with a beefy nose on them so they don't bend or break.  Channel Lock has a real sweet pair.  The ones from Sears don't cut it

Try to work in an area where you can recover the clip if it gets away from you.
