blinking lights
« on: April 12, 2010, 04:55:49 AM »

I have a 72 340 barracuda and when the engine is running all my lights blink continuously. I unplugged my voltage regulator and that stops the blinking. I made sure I grounded my Regulator on the firewall. Any Ideas??

WELCOME

There are many reasons why they do that.

Engine to body grounding
Alternator to engine grounding
Bad Regulator
Low voltage to the regulator
Low trigger voltage to the alternator
Bulk Head connector.

You have a solid state regulator.  They are more sensitive than the old machanical ones.  Make sure the connectors on the pigtail are snug going to the regulator.

Do the lights dim when idling?
