i have been working with a guy who has had a check in the mail from Geiko for about 2 months now. He lives in New Jersey and the first check Was from 2 towns over. He waited a week then called. Then the check was coming from another office he says he still has not got it. He had a nice 69 fury cop car says some girl backed into it hard enough to peel the quarter pannel back aways and smashed his perfect bumper.

He says its funny he got his bill ontime but still can't get a check. at least he still has a sense of humor about it.

The insurance payouts to those of us (30 cars in all) that got paint overspray near my shop were incredibly fast.....makes you wonder why some fight tooth & nail for mere peanuts while others like this company paid out huge amounts over what they called "disputable claims" without a fight.....

Its nice when things work the way that they are ment to. that kind of service is what people expect when they make payments to the insurance companies.

Ahhh   You needed to know the whole story.  The car was parked at StitcherBob's shop to get the upholstery repaired.  But instead, this tractor trailer side swipes it and leaves the scene.  First it was the owner of the trucking company.  Then it was their agents.  Then it was AIG itself.  Manipulating, convienently loosing documents, photos, police reports, only to have me send them right to them again.

What got them to settle was, I started joining forums all over the place.  I posted my original post on about 2 dozen forums.  Ford, GM and Mopar.  My arguement was someone has to be a car collector and be of some influence at AIG.  Sure enough, Some guy from Moparts saw that and PM'd me.  He looked into it and made her settle with me.  But during that 19 months, I contacted the state DOT and filed a complaint against the trucking company.  The feedback was the Illinois DOT was notified and impounded 4 of his 5 trucks for violations.  I went to the state insurance commission, who not only found in my favor, but ordered them to pay me.  They launched 9 investigation cases on 9 different counts in my case allone.  The grossly violated my rights.  I warned AIG I am not easy to manipulate and quite aware of claims tactics.  I also informed them I was a Government certified Arson/Incident investigator.  But that only had a minor impact.  But it did get me to someone who was very careful about what she said and wrote.

So I stayed a stone in their shoe, blackened their eye, and got what I wanted.  Next time I file a claim, I'll get one with 10,000 added for legal fees.
