I just ran the code for the convertible top and again it's not in my book...V3K...so the "V3" is for vinyl convertible top and then the "K" is for ?.  They only list Black (X) and White (W) and then "9" as special order.  So maybe this guy got a "K" burnt orange top as well??

That's a late car, almost as late as mine.  (530 vs. 631).  And, another silver care that was repainted - like mine as well.  Was the silver just a lousy paint in '70?  Every one I've ever seen has been painted another color.

Is the 318 still in the car?  That's a lot of body for such a small motor, but I know Dodge and Plymouth did put them in their Cs.

Well Bob pointed out that those codes in question are actually "X's".  So it would be a charcoal and black interior with a black top.  The special order qould have been the EA4 Silver metallic paint.

Snotty...Yup the Silver metallic paint was a beautiful color but they had a lot of problems with it fadding and pealing quickly.  Very rare to see an original EA4 painted car that hasn't been repainted.

As for the 318 on the 70 fury...my 70 Sport fury was an orignal 318/2bbl with a 904 and a 8 1/4 with 2.79 gears.  I was surprised how peppy it actually was, not having all the excess big block over the front wheels made for a very comfortable ride.

As rare as 318 cars are becomming, I do hope people keep them that way.  I saw the car below at a show in Tehachapi in '06.  It is a factory 318.  The owner said he gave serious thought to swapping in a 440 until he learned how few of these Dodge 'verts came with the LA motor.  He was keeping it that way.  Enjoy!:

Ya, I had a 318 in my fairly stripped '71 Fury III and it moved our pretty good!  Those cars only weighed about 3700 lbs.
