It's bad enough
« on: March 30, 2009, 01:12:40 PM »

that someone broke the antenna off Chaz this morning.  What makes it even worse is;
-I didn't notice it when I walked out to warm up the car
-I didn't notice it when I had to go back in my apt to get something I forgot
-I STILL didn't notice it while waiting for the car  to warm up
-that I saw the guy who probably did it dumpster diving for cans while I was driving out of the complex
-that I STILL didn't notice it when heading to McD's to grab some breakfast
-that I noticed it almost 15 minutes after I first got in the car, and was almost at work

Too late to do anything now other than try an find another antenna to install

Lea or Steve, you guys have a spare antenna ?

I would get a power one if they are breaking them out there, Moe

If that was the guy, what could you have done? Or what would he do to you? Maybe better that you saw it later...

Well, I could have confronted him with my 3' Snap-On pry bar in hand, or at least made a note of the vehicle and license plate and called the police.

The ONLY reason why he broke mine, near as I can figure, is it's chrome and shiny.  The stall to the right of mine has a Tahoe and that antenna just unscrews!

As for the replacement, I was kinda thinkin' about one of those newer wedges you see...

Any experienced dumpster diver will tell you that he needed it to poke through the trash bags.

Sorry Mo. . .I don't.  Lea might be able to rescue one. . .

My suggestion is what Bob said.  Then it's over.  Or maybe you can put a stainless mast in there.

I'll do some searching for power set-ups online.  This sucks.

I thought the first year for the Stainless was 70.  But maybe 69.

I suggested the power like Bob did so the antenna is completely retracted and nobody can fool with it.
