VRRROOOOOOOOM!!
« on: March 14, 2009, 05:08:08 PM »

Well I woke "Ruby" up from her long winters nap today. I poured some gas down the carb and twisted the key a-ti-ti-ti-ti-ti-ti-ti-ti-ti-ti-ti .......nuthin' poured in more gas. A-ti-ti-ti-ti-ti-ti-ti-ti-ti-ti........nuthin'. I thought maybe she's flooded now so I pulled a spark plug out and it was as dry as a bone!!! Oh great what hapened to all the gas???

So........I poured more gas in ......nuthin. So I pulled the plug out and connected the wire to it and laid it on the exhaust manifold, had my son turn the key and.........no spark.
Hmmmmmmm could my orange box died over the winter from just sitting???
I unplugged the orange box and plugged it back in and poured in more gas and
VRRROOOOOOOOM!!!! She fired up!!! *WHEW*!!!! All I could think of was I gotta go online and ask the (good)fellas for  But she's runnin put her in gear and she wants to go forward and back and the brakes work so we're in good shape ready for a bath and a cruise!!!
But why would unplugging and plugging in the orange box make a difference??? Corrosion? bad connection? I don't know but shes runnin!!!! YABBAB DABBA DOO!!!!!

Corrosion maybe

Or the plug is bad

or maybe you have a loose pin in the box.

Vasoline will prevent that in the future.  You must have some for you baby bottom around.

believe it or not, I have a Chrysler service bulletin that told service techs to remove excess grease from that plug because the factory put too much on and it was affecting the computer....

Nice day for it too. :)

I had the '65 out one day a couple of weeks ago, sounds like this week might be nice too.

I had trouble starting the Dart on Friday.
It needed a new vacuum advance, and after putting that on, it just wouldn't start.
After checking everything else, finally realised I'd put the distributor back 180 off.
