Some marketing maven did a  survey around '77-78 on luxury car
demographics... turned out that Chrysler as a brand had the OLDEST age
demographic of any car sold in America... older than Caddy or Lincoln!
As a result there's still an amazing number of low mile, well cared for
70s NYers and Newports!

My '77 Newport had 38k miles when I bought it in Gettysburg in 2002. We
were visiting our son in college and sow it in the back row in a local
lot - you know the rest!  I only sold it because my wife kept
complaining about gas mileage of the 400... I'm still looking for the
right 70/71 Fury to replace it - the Reege is very nice, but I still
love pre-smog or minimal smog junk cars best and want another
one.  After around '71 they just didn't run the same.

"What early 70's mid-line..."
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Chrysler New Yorker Brogham is neither early 70's, nor mid-line.
Sheesh!
