Well, it took a long time, did my due diligence, and found out lotsa stuff.  So, here's what I ended up doing.

Found on ebayfr $20 a gorgeous rubber 1981 Pontiac steering wheel the exact same burgundy as The Nyb's interior.

From the Chrysler steering wheel I removed the critical center hub.  It's welded in. Ugghh.
Did the same from the Pontiac's.  Also welded.  Ughhh. again.
Welded in the Chryslers hub to the Pontiac wheel.

I also have a Pentastar emblem to replace the Pontiac emblem.  This is gonna be a gorgeous upgrade for chump change.

Thanks, Snotty.
Over at the New Yorker Board, we were hashing out about whether GM/Saginaw wheels would bolt on and somebody said, "Given enough time and money, you can make any wheel fit any car you want".  I thought about that. and I said: "WTF, I'm retired....".

Retired, eh??  Well now, just buy a bunch of GM wheels, do some cutting and welding, and viola! - you have your own retirement plan!!!

How about $300 a wheel?
