Sebring headrest removal question
« on: March 01, 2009, 07:08:55 AM »

My sister is FL has a question for you experts:
Hoping you can help with this....I ordered some seat covers for my '99 Sebring convertible.  It looks to me like I need to completely remove the headrests to get the seat covers to go on right.  There is a little button on the side at the base which allows you to slide the headrest up and down.  But after it reaches its highest point, I can't get it to budge (in terms of removing it completely).   I e-mailed the guy from the company today.  He told me to just keep holding the little button down, and pull up on the headrest at the same time, and that it should come off.  But it's not working.  Could it be that I'm just not strong enough, or is there something else I should be doing that I'm not?  Any suggestions?

Have her take the Sebring to Sebring and have the Sebring Taz pull it.

I don't recall any way of doing that.  It is just tough to adjust.  Really needs to be tugged on

I'll ask Snotty after he gets out of the pulpit,  giving all a sermon on the evils of fast cars, fast women and strong drink.

Steve (Fogel), I do think you just keep pulling up while pushing the button.  I could look on the Stratus - the '99 Sebring is a Stratus/Cirrus from the front seats forward.

Ooops!  Jerry has the Stratus in Santa Barbara!!  Sorry Buddy, I can't look for three weeks.
