Either way, it's better than putting mayonnaise on fries.  I knew  gal who picked up that habit after being an exchange student to Belgium

Gatineau is not far from here --two hour drive.
It is all politics. They are playing with fire when messing with a cultural icon of a dish.
Poutine is not something people eat everyday.
It is like popcorn when at the movies,or a hot dog at the baseball game, etc.
You eat poutine at a hockey game.(Most eat it when they are drunk after the clubs shut down for the evening.)
If anything, the smoking and drinking wil catch up to your body before a plate of fries with cheese and gravy on them does.
I have been to Nepean--and it is boring..

I usually get Chili-cheese fries at Checker's

chain that is secretive about its menu ingredients and nutrition"

Yeah - that's the stuff I posted about a few weeks ago - it is
AWESOME!!! We lived about an hour S of Montreal for 8 yrs and still
have a place there... Poutine is the national comfort food dish of
Quebec almost. Sometimes it has cheese curds, sometimes other
cheeses... any way it comes, is Yummy!!!  Burrrrrrpp!
