It's a driver. Heck, I drive a Saturn, my fifth Saturn. I absolutely love disposable cars, when they die, lite fire to them and walk to the corner store, buy a six pak and call a cab. In the last seven cars i've had, never had a call from the cops (don't ask about the eighth).

you guys should see my word file with all the ads in it... you'ld go nuts there are F150s, k-5 blazers, fleetwoods, olds 98s, big mercurys, fifth aves, dodge rams, rivieras... its fun car hunting. even if the car isnt a classic, or the greatest. problem is im not one to settle, and i need to like the car im in... if i was "smart" id have bought something decent with the the almost 1900 id have had if i had not fixxed my 72, which could easily eat another grand in nitpicks like suspension, interior, and exhaust work...

im realistic... the car i get will have seen many miles... the paints not gonna be 100%... im amazed at how many 200k mile cars are out there!

It's always kinda fun looking for a cheap beater that you also like...
I'm with Mobby, in that more often or not it's been a big old car, but
preferably a plain Jane type with a small V-8. Not a bad choice while
gas prices stay down, and I think it will for a couple of years while
the economy remains in the crapper...so have fun while it lasts! It may
be the last time it ever happens.  Jon - big '80s and 90s luxury
cars like Lincolns have so much to go wrong.  I've done best with
the simpler older models without all of the power gizmos - get yourself
a mid '60s to mid 70s 4 dr. Satellite or Fury or some such, you can
still get a cheap one if you don't care too much about looks, nice
paint etc - you see 'em on eBay and CL all the time. Do a crazedlist
search. There's a '66 Fury III 4 dr sedan like that near me that's just
been sitting. I can check it out. Easy to fix, the cachet of antiquity,
and cool to drive around in!

Sorry my Craiglist link didn't work - it's a '78 Diplomat wagon with 318 and 129K running and solid

for $500...  I'd be tempted, but my wife'll serve papers if I buy another car right now!!
