The rarest Mopar: New York Imperial Parade Phaeton
« on: November 19, 2008, 06:50:24 AM »

The most magnificent and prestigious Mopar ever built, and probably one
of, if not THE, most valuable cars in the world, estimates have been in
excess of $20 million, if one ever came up for sale.

Still owned by the City of New York:

Thanks Stan.

The Imperial Club has more info on the Parade Phaetons... the Detroit
car was the one that Paul Stern had, recently it was in the Imperial
Palace (nice name!) Collection. The NY  and LA cars are still in
their respective cities.  The Detroit car was meant by Chrysler to
be donated to the White House but federal rules forbid it, so it stayed
with Chrysler in Detroit for use on special occasions there.  The
color schemes of all 3 cars have changed over the years.

Thanks Roger, Very interesting article. I remember seeing that type of car in parades on TV and/or for visiting heads of state etc...What a tank of an automobile huh? The bumpers weigh 200 lbs each? Holy cow! I thought I needed help with my Fusie bumpers...On your pasting a link......I think you just have to hit return after the paste...
