Lean Burn replacement on 318 V8

Anyone ever replaced a Lean Burn Computer with the standard Electronic
Ignition & vac advance distributor ? I guess you'd need to change
the carb so as to have the vac advance fitting?

No you don't have to change the carb.

I haven't done one in a long time, but the electronic ignition is all you need.

Changing the carb is an option-not really necessary. The exception is on 88/89 Dippy's with the Holley feedback carb that has a gazillion wires going into the float bowl and metering rods..
You can use the vacuum port belonging to the pooter for the vacuum advance dizzy. It is a timed vacuum not a constant vacuum port.
The actual conversion is simple,really.
Is this conversion for a car named after this guy??

'possedly Mopar  makes a kit, which includes a new disty too,
maybe because it needs centrifugal advance, as well as vac
advance??

Yep, for that first pic guy namesake - comes home tomorry, Lord willin' and the creek don't rise.

Will put on pics, if someone tells me how - I can never seem to figger it out... I'm slow :-(

Mopar Performance makes a kit for about 300 bux.
Why spend that when  you can get a good working used dizzy for 40,an Auto Zone ECU for another 40,pigtail from the dealer for 20,ballast resistor for less than ten.
Some wire, shrink tube, etc and your 360 will purr like a kitten and roar like a lion for a hundred bux.
My buddy Jack has about 20-30 good electronic dizzys for sale, among many other partsz.
Typically he sells a complete used kit for around 60 bux.(dizzy,ECU,harness)
I always recommend swapping in a fresh hotter spark coil and new NGK plugs as part of the conversion-a good general complete tune up does not hurt.
Another recommendation is take apart the distributor, clean and lube it up.While you are in there (this is optional--not necessary) recurve it to your application..
