rear leaf failure...
« Reply #15 on: October 03, 2008, 09:47:53 AM »

So anyway... with some help from P, 2 tire irons, a crow bar, 2 jacks, a jackstand, 2 exhaust clamps, some duct tape,  my basic socket set, a block of wood, a hammer, and a table vice...

thanks for the advice, the gear clamps i decided against because the last time this was done that didnt work at all... the leaves just ripped them apart... the exhaust clamps worked nicely....

anyway

The leaves were pulled from the tunk, re-aligned and set together... the duct tape is covering the hole to keep water out until it can be welded by someone with a welder and some welding knowledge... its not perfect, but the cars sitting right and i dont have to worry about the back collapsing in.

We used Fairly heavy duty clamps so it'll be okay for the time being. What I need is a cross reference for the proper part number so I can put the correct stuff on there.

Go to any spring shop and tell them what you need and they should be able to hook you up.

Alright, I just don't know of any spring shops around here. I may have to wait for Steve to get home and see what Raymond can do.
