Say It Ain't So!!!!
« on: August 28, 2008, 07:30:54 AM »

I heard on the radio this mornign that Chrysler, in a move to cut expenses, is trying to dump the Viper!  They want to "sell it" to another manufacturer.

I'll never have the dough to own one of these, but it's the only avenue for bragging rights in world-wide motorsports Mopar has!

It's the late '70s all over again!!!

Calm down, my son.  Calm down.
First, El Viperino has already been given the axe.  If a dealer doesn't have one in stock right now, he ain't gettin any more.
Secondly, it was such a low production car, it's perfect for an "independant" to build'em.
Like the Cobra builders.   I see a long future for the Viper.

Besides, the V10 lives on in the trucks.   That will go perfectly with a nice restored Imp.

I never expected it to last (a'la Prowler), what with all of the gov't crap....but the economy blindsided me on the Viper's life expectancy. I hope the Challenger stays longer.....and the Hemi.....

The Viper never did anything for me...  It's a neat car but like Brian said to Corvettish.  Make it an Austin Healy or an Aston Martin and I'll get excited

Bring back the big slopping fenders and long skinny hoods.  Bet they would sell like hotcakes.

Better yet, since they are bringing back the Plymouth name, bring back a fin car.  The Viper at $85,000, has no appeal to me at all

That doesn't mean they're bringing back Plymouth.  Ever heard of the "Chrysler Voyager?"
