Ok, now Where I have been!
« on: August 24, 2008, 02:56:48 AM »

Ladies and Gentlemen:
First  I want to apologize for not having been on more lately. I have been up to my neck with work, school, and other issues that have prevented me from spending more time here.

1. Work-it's busy as hell (a great thing, not complaining!) but it's stretching me to 12+ hour days alsmot 6 days a week.

2. I'm back in school after a 13 year hiatus-it's only one class (BIOLOGY!) but at least I'm back after it.  Great thing is if I get a B or better work pays for it.

3. Now the primary reason for my absence over the last several months-my wife and I are divorcing she's moving out of the area. I've been dealing with this since February, even before.  This is all a plus, my friends, trust me, and we are parting as great friends. Also on the plus side:

A.) I feel great about the split, it should have happened a long time ago
B.) Cars are safe, not in jeapordy, still mine and always will be
C.) I am keeping the house (and the 3 car garage!) and only had to buy her out. Hey. what's 50K among friends? LOL

I don't usually do this type of broadcasting, but in light of my flippant behavior at Carlisle and not getting back to people, I felt it necessary to explain myself.

The only down side is now I REALLY have to lose 20 pounds if I ever expect to date again!

Thanks for listening, I appreciate it.

Wow....just wow....
Well judging by your emotions this is good news ....we haven't had much of that around here lately.
Good luck with your future pursuits (and finding someone who won't take your cars LOL!)

Sounds like he's kinda busy to make it to the BBQ, but then again it's only a 5 hr trip.....

Gee Rob...  What does one say?  If it's all coming together for you you're very fortunate!  Remaining "friends" is almost unheard of, and being able to keep your cars and the house is wonderful!

My best to you, I hope everything continues to fall into place.  (Good luck in the weight department, if it werks lemme' know the secret will ya'? )

God Bless

I am the contrarion here, of course, as I never take divorce as good news.  However, since divorce is a "death of a marriage," I woud rather see it be on friendly terms instead of the beginning of a thirty year continuous war.

Good luck to you Rob in your future.

Now, Steve, I'm copying and sending your reply to Elaine!!!!

Hi Rob, I know you say its ok and all.....but I have to say I'm sorry to hear about your break-up. At least it sounds like it's as good as a divorce gets anyways....Rob, You may remember me as the guy that bought Don Carpenter's 70 Fury a little over two years ago....(with input from you)... Still have it and still enjoyin it...I wish you the very best...hang in there....happiness will find you if you walk with your Creator through this...Also...I've always shed pounds when I was single...without even tryin...

Thanks to all of you, I appreciate it.  All I have to do is make it through September and all will be well.  For financial reasons, the cars aren't being driven as much, but I am still enjoying them.

The convertible came home from the rental garage on the trailer last Saturday. This will allow me to work on it here and get it finished.

Thanks again for thinking of me.

Not sure if you've heard this joke,

Guy asks his wife what she wants for her birthday.

She says, "A divorce!"

He replies, "Gee honey I'd like to do that for you but I wasn't planning on spending that much this years!!"
