Here's a pic of Steve G's '64 Avanti with an even better background

"Texas Raiders" is a beautifully restored B-17G owned by the Confederate Air Force from Texas.  This Flying Fortress has two Stude-built Wright R-1820 Cyclones on board, which was the reason for this picture taken back in the mid '90s.  The CAF brought this ship to Jamestown, NY. for a local air show and fly in.

Was that your red Avanti in that pic Stan?  A friend of mine bought a red '64 in Florida back in the early '90s.  This guy also owned a supercharged '63 with a four speed.
No, that was a Google pic.  I was a Propah Bahstonian all my life until 2 years ago when I retired.  My car was a very late red '64 regularly  aspirated automatic.

Funny thing is...I didn't know it was his car when it came into the shop. I said "why the heck would someone ruin a nice Avanti by 2-toning the roof where the doors cut into it and by putting a gold 1957 C-ad-illac Vee emblem on the nose!"
Turns out Lowey liked those things.....
