Mopar Racing History Thread
« on: July 07, 2008, 08:48:03 PM »

This will be an ongoing thread for any historical footage of famous Mopar racing machines, so the young'ins can learn why our cars have ruled racing for so long

The Original Little Red Wagon was a racer, not a wheelstander. It turned out to be a real evil handling Factory Experimental racer, until Bill "Maverick" Golden was hired to drive it. He developed  wheelstanding into an art form.

Note the flag man starter and the simple open car trailers of the old days....

Here's one of my favorites...

The ONLY Mopar A-Body to compete in the 1970 Trans Am series.

Sure would like to find out what happed to it. Gerald Robinson was the driver (tried Google...nothing of substance)

Why Stanley.....I do believe you've done it again!

I wanted that exact type of film showing the 300's on the beach!

Well done old chap! Here's a little reward:

Where's the video of "Mobby's race car"...you know the one that I believe C-barge posted a while back (after Mobby lost a leaf spring through the trunk floor). I just LMAO over that one...That would fit in good here...found it....

The shame of it is, his car is almost up to that now.

By the way, he popped the spring on the other side last week

Glen....that's not Mopar history!!! BTW the Little Red Wagon did 10's with Hemi power, while I'll bet that thing has a movable weight for ballast  (ran too effortlessly into it's wheelstand...LRW was more violent) and only did mid 12's.....

The bus had BB Chev and later on Hemi power! Check these video's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0myEgVTvzMU The 69' Hemi under glass cuda was found about 10 years ago in a junkyard just outside of Winnipeg and is now resurrected! It was featured in the website http://www.carsinbarns.com/mopars%20in%20barns/MoparIndex.htm  Hey,Bob,...remmember the Drag On Lady...Shirley Shahan http://www.nhra.com/content/blogs.asp?articleid=28567&zoneid=116 Great article on her here!
