Went to a rural show on Sunday
« on: June 30, 2008, 01:44:02 PM »

This was an all makes put on by one of the restoration shops. About 100 cars showed up on this 100 degree day. Few Mopars and even fewer Cs. Here's a few pics. Special note to Leaburn  - you know you want the 68, don't even try to deny it.

The body and paint work on this car is flawless, but then what do you expect for 50K

And one for Stitcher except it's a 4door

And in the immortal words of the Head Kahoona  "Damned kids!!!!"

I dig that '70 pickup!
I'm getting to where I prefer mix-make shows better that Mopar-specific shows.  I find the people friendlier, more willing to look at and appreciate all types of cars, and there's no "Masters of the Marque" to be found.  You know, Mopar Nazis - "That car ain't no factory 440 car!!"
Looks like that was a great show to attend.

Yes, but at mixed shows they're only talking (That ain't fact'ry!) to the E and B body crowd.  They leave us C types alone.

By the way, I, too, am a Nazi, and can be a real mean one, but I usually leave my comments to myself or to the person I happen to be walking with.  I'm real tired of seeing 318 E bodies with 440s in them, but I don't point that out to the owners.

Unless for some reason they piss me off!

yes, Snotty "keeps his comments to himself", until he tells some giant dude he doesn't know "hey buddy, you know those aren't the original windshield washer squirter hoses"?........then the guy looks at Snotty like he just smelled a pile of horse manure and says, "No, please expand on that point sir, for our edification"

This one I TOLD YOU about.

Yes, I did get snotty with him; he was an ass!  "You won't see one of these for 200 miles!"  It was ten years ago and he was asking 16 grand for a very rough Hurst.  There was a pristine one in the 300 show not 50 feet from where he was standing.

WHat an idiot!

Ths was at the Sacramento Show when the National 300 meet was runing concurrently in the same park.  I drove the '62 NY there - they tried to stick me in the 300 show!

They were looking at the grill.
