Looky what showed up at the resto shop for a tune up...









A British  Allard!
Most came with Cad-i-llac engines in them. Some had Ardun Hemi Fords. Some have Chevy smallblock V8s in them. This one however......

They treat me like dirt! I'm better than dirt! Well better than most kinds of dirt. Maybe not as good as store-bought dirt.Thats got nutrients & stuff

Cool an early 50's J2X with a Hemi no less!  I think they only made less than a 100 or so and being a competition car, probably darn few are left on the planet. Great pictures, thanks for posting them!

There was one at the American Grafitti Show in Modestao last year.  I asked the owner if it had the Hemi.  When he said "yes," I said, "Well open the hood and let's see!!"    He did, and then a crown really started to gather.
 
That's when I found out he wasn't the owner, but a friend of the owner.  (The owner got sick and asked his Buddy to take the car to the show.)  He had no idea of the draw of a '50's small Hemi could bring.
