Bronze roof paint.
« on: June 02, 2008, 05:04:58 AM »

So anyone know what kind of paint they used on these old cars for the Bronze roof.  I used the meauires paint cleaner then polish then wax and it came out pretty good.   Two issues though.  When cleaning it made a light black haze here and there.  You really have to look hard but can see a few marks.  The other thing is somehow I have what apper to be water spots which will not come out.   Any ideas?

Thanks
Tom

The water spots are from the sun baking droplets of water on the car when it had wax on it.

The car was painted in enamal

Here's a color chart on the main site.

Can we see the car?  So far all we have seen is the engine bay.

I was Just about ready to show off/post pics.   I went to down load some the other day and for reasons unknown to me I can't get them to transfer over from the camera now.  The photo album wants to load from a scaner the wife hooked up.   Once I get this fixed I'll post the life and times of Kaw - Liga and where she got the nick name.

I've been curious about the origin of yer car's name.  Sounds Native American to me....

Am I reading the chart correctly?   The fender tag has  Bdy C22, Trm M41, Pnt AW2.  The body is a 300 2 dr.  Trm chrome and paint- roof  regal gold poly, bdy persian white.

Thanks

I don't recall talking about the paint until now.  I've been trying to  take things in steps. I recall 1st get engine running, carb, dizzy, pulgs.  Then went to breaks, brakes.  Now that I'm saving my dimes for the brakes I moved to the body and cleaning it up.   Next up will be the interior.   Once I have the money and brakes done I'll hit you guys up for timing and the mufflers.   Then on to suspension.

If I did hit on the paint stuff sorry for forgetting about it.
