This!

I pick it up later this week if all goes well. Now I can finally iron out the d@mn bumps, ruts and general uglyness that are the roads around my place....The county "don't come out there"

Oh well...gives me a new toy to play with

It runs (both the Pony and the BIG 4cyl Cat Diesel) Needs a few tires <urk, about $300 each> but everything else works. It's a '49 Caterpillar 112 Motorgrader  Oh, and the seat needs to be reupolsterd.

A 1949 model? I bet that thing can tell a few stories of new roads it was involved in being built back in the day..
Send the bill for the tires to your county office and ask them to take it off your property taxes!!

According to the owner. It was used by the Navy during construction of the base here. After it was surplused he used it in his contruction business up untill about 10 years ago. It's had good care....up until 10 years ago! He cranked the pony and Diesel over once in awhile but it hadn't moved in all that time. It took about an hour to get it running again.

It's gonna get a complete grease job, an oil change and some tires right off the bat.

I don't store big things at my shop....the last one was kinda difficult to move with a milk crate seat...

my neighbor still won't forgive me for that.....
