What's sad is that scams like that have been around for years and years and still people  getting caught by them.  Even my sister, who is normally pretty level headed, almost fell for one a couple of years ago and it took a call to the RCMP Commercial Crime Division to talk her out of it.

And those E-bay scams...big dollar car going for a cheap "Buy It Now" price.

Had a guy at work who found a 66 chevelle convertible 396/4spd on e-bay...Restored...super cheap... and he asked me about buying off e-bay because he was going to buy it.  I had to talk to him for over a hour to convince him it was a scam.

Yes, and I thought about that guy yesterday!  Old Cars Weekly, May 1 edition, page 4 has an article about a couple in Canada that was busted for vintage-car fraud.  They "sold" many cars through ebay, Craig's List, and others bilking people out of $400,000.00, many of them in Europe.

What made me think about that guy was that he was Arab.  Remember the crap he sent you about Americans dying in slaughter, etc.?  Well, the man busted in this scheme was Akthem Saadi Yousif, 31, an Iraqi citizen.  His partner was Allana Nicole Austring, also 31, a Canadian.

I hope it's the same guy!  Whether or not, I'm glad at least two of these creeps got caught.

Concerning this type of scam, what I get a kick out of is the people who send money KNOWING they did not purchase a lottery ticket of any kind!  Idiots!  Greedy idiots!

what was his name?......Sheik Yerbouti?.........I told him I was skeptical of the price of such a nice car and he said, "You flocking Americans stuck donkey clocks and are stupid idiots"........I said, "We're idiots?, you're the one offering a $50k car for $5k, so we're not as stupid as you are, Omar the Tentmaker "!
