I wasn't comparing wheels to music, I was comparing trends to trends.  Yes, the 13" multi-spoke wheels were the rage in the '70s, but they are still around and can be found at any low-rider show.  COme visit me and I'll take you to Wasco and show you a bunch.  Spinners?  What a joke?  Do they still exist?  COme with me to East Bakersfiled.

I love Torque-Thrust D's and I always have.  They, too, were a trend in the late '60s and early '70s.  They're back now and so popular that American Racing has a six-month back-log of orders.

Some trends last longer than we may wish to beleive; that is my point.  I keep waiting for the tatoo trend to end and return to the NAvy and prison from which they spawned.  But, like Rap music, they keep hanging aruond!!

If you doubt that music has trends answer me this: When was the last time you heard a "New Wave" piece?  How about "Funkadelic?"  "Sofistorock?"  "Avantegarde JAzz?"  "Boheimian?"  "Boroque?"

Music, like wheel styles, has trends.  I hoped Rap would be one of them and I was wrong.  I think these large, ugly wheels that are so popular today are going to be around for a long time boys.

Just what Foamy said...

Trends are just that.  Some hang around, often times longer than wanted, but they will eventually go away.

Most of todays young car folk like four-cylinder coupes with wings and giant chrome fart-pipe mufflers.  However most that I have met also share the passion and interest that we here do.  Roll up in an old car or truck and they will give an honoable nod and maybe even want a look under the hood.

Kids are just that.  IMPRESSIONABLE!  They are NOT lost!  If phat shiney mufflers and plastic ground-effects empty thier wallets than so be it.  Those things are better than the illegal narcotics that plauge our once fine nation.

Siss' 16 year-old boy still wants a Dodge Dart, my father emerged from the Navy with NO tats, and I still like Beethoven, Ozzy and AC-DC and have never touched pot .

John's post was full of insight, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it!  Good show my boy!  Now when does it come out in Cribbs?

Its got to be some kind of a scam, your going to tell me with all the
work supposedly done to that car he wants $510. Somthing stinks It is a
nice looking car , i would instantly sell those rims and get some
steelies with the proper hub caps.

68 is without a doubt one of my favorite year 300's, but as we talked
about in another thread this to me seems fishery as all heck.

looks very G-machine ish, not as nasty as the fusey with rims is to me... but the 69-73 cars do not take well to wheel changes like the slab sided ones do. i'd go for a more era appropriate set up myself instead of those things though...

P... that was just someones opening bid dude... he's got some big reserve on it probably... look then leap right pal?

He says to one of the questioners "I have about $17K in it....."

I don't think he's gonna come close to breaking even

This brings up one of my peeves (ok, make it 2)....$17K invested in making it "da bomb", yet he couldn't seem to get the A/C system to work, and those who throw tons o' cash at a semi-popular (to the rest of the world) car and then throw 'er on Ebay looking to break the bank.

They must be runnin out of Chevelles.......

Yup. That trans is basically what Keisler is selling.
I also saw this:
"The paint is new, but the body panels are not perfect."
Again like Mobby said.....fix it first and then make it pretty.....and while you're at it make it PRETTY, not just a quicky spray job
