2007 Charger wheels...
« on: May 09, 2008, 04:23:50 PM »

I have an oppurtunity to pick up a set of factory aluminum wheels with the tires from a 2007 Charger for a whopping $150. They only have about 5k miles on them. Thinking about putting them on the Wanna-Bee, or maybe the Shelby since the originals need refurbished. I have not test fit them yet. I have heard both sides of the "they will fit/they will not fit " argument locally. Has anyone on here done this wheel swap, or know of someone that has. Will they fit the older MoPars?

Your car is 4 X 4.5 bolt pattern.  If the Charger is the same, there is no reason why they won't fit.  PM "CBarge" and see what the bolt pattern os for the charger,  Or go on line and shop for the Charger wheels.  Somewhere you ought to be able to get bolt pattern

I believe our old cars are 5 x 4.5 or 114mm and the charges are 5 x 114.3mm, I could be wrong...

But some say they will bolt on no problem and others say you will need an adapter to fit properly.

If you have an old axle shaft or rotor take it with you and test fit it.

Yah.  Maybe.  But the offset is totally wrong and it won't look right.

The new Mopar rims are not a 4.5" pattern.  I don't know what they are, but they won't mount on older Mopars.

I could easlly check since I have two from my daughter's Neon in my storage room, but then I'd have to get off of my butt and look!

I disagree....there are several mopar platforms that still use the 5 x 4.5/114mm bolt pattern.  Neon isn't one of them if I'm not mistaken.

The LH platforms, charger, 300, magnum, concorde, LHS, 300M, use a 5 x 114.3mm bolt pattern, which technically isn't exactly 5 x 4.5 but .3mm isn't much.  They will fit, the only real problem will be the offset, but from the research I've done most rear wheel drive mopars seem to have about a 25mm offset so the use of a 1 inch adapter will give you a Zero offset and you should have no problems.  And if the bolt pattern is a concern you can get a conversion adapter and run the dual bolt patterns.

Well to run the modern rims you have to endure metric and embrace adapters....
