Untapped goldmine in central PA
« on: May 05, 2008, 03:27:23 AM »

I have a lil story for ya:
My work used to bring me to the central part of PA, a gazzillion miles from any residence where people still had their own teeth and did not inbreed.  I tripped across a junkyard filled (and I do mean FILLED) with cars up to the early '70s.  The yard is not an active yard, per se.  Just a place where Darryl and his brother Darryl can raid to fix up Jethro's pickup.

If anybody near central PA wants to make the expedition, I can give the exact location (hint: aprox 2 hrs. no. of Harrisburg).

It looks to be about three hours east of me.  Do you know any more about it Stan, or should I just BUY a banjo?

I discovered the place 20 years ago.  I was wondering if it was still there so I Yahoo mapped it and checked the satellite shot.  Yep.  Still there.  And it looks exactly like nothing's changed.

Banjos?  Nah.  But just follow the noises of what sounds like a pig squeeling in the back 40.

I went to school in the next county from there. (Perry)  That was almost 40 years ago.  (Sigh)  It's right in between Rt 80 and 78 on the Susquehanna River.

It's about 3 hours for me too.  Matt I think it will be longer for you, maybe more like 4 hours.  You have to get on 11 South in White Deer and cross the river in Bunbury and slug it out from there.

Then again, I also drive a reliable vehicle.
