Hello All,

Glad to finally get on this site.  You may find this post duplicated on another site so please excuse the duplication.

I am having a problem w/ the cruise control on my 78 NYB.  The symptom is as follows; Upon activating the cruise control (regardless of current speed), the unit starts pushing the throttle all the way to WOT.  I have checked all linkage, electrical and vacuum.  At this point, I am ready to just replace the entire unit.

Can anyone tell me where I might locate a new, used or rebuilt unit?

Thanks,

First of all WELCOME!

Does it floor the car until it get's up to speed, or does it just keep going?

Thanks. Glad to be here.  It does not floor it.  Just gradually but rapidly applies more throttle and just keeps going.

Ahh

MMMM   I think that unit is sealed so you can't service it.  Do you have a picture of yours handy you can post?  If it's the one I think it is, they are a dime a dozen.  Even if the cable is cut, they interchange.

I assume the speedometer is working. . .

The 78 Newyorker would be the same unit used from 68 through the mid-late 80's on almost evry Ma' mopar product.
