Look What Mobby Found...

...Not a damn thing
Remember how we were worried about frame rail rust?   Well it's there...
This is why I need new trunk flooring (notice the already done quarter panel patches):

Hello Driveway, Look at that frame rail

Mike, that must be a Joisey car gone bad..past trunk occupants had a chance to get away..
You can buy heavy guage frame rail repair kits for that.
That car looks to be alot of work and I hope you are not in over your head...like me!!
Luckily being an A body...nothing cant be fixed on it.
All that is needed is time and moulah! LOL

Mike

Check around the torsion bar sockets under the front seat.  Both sides

With some luck this was a oil leaker and it saved the cross member.

I'll get under her tomorrow when it's light out and poke around (hopefully not too hard and break somethin else) thanks for the pointer, Steve

Mike better think about this a bit more.

The purchase of a good mig welder and a crash welding coarse is in order here.

If looking into a Mig, I suggest either a Hobart or a Miller.  The 135 is more than enough.  Use C24 and .25 wire.

When done though, it will be a nice car and worth something

If nothing else will give lots of welding practice... A buddy o' mine who's a blacksmith and metal sculptor just got himself the Hobart 220 v MIG... that rig is sweet!!  I'd pay the extra bucks for that one if I had to do it all over again, even give you the capability to weld stainless.  Love to have his plasma cutter too.
